Come join us for a vibrant celebration of Pasifika culture at Steep (formerly KBT Café)! Immerse yourself in the rich traditions, music, dance, and cuisine of the Pacific Islands. Performances in hula, mele, siva Samoa, and Fijian Meke from students at Yale and other visiting schools will go on throughout the event as you taste and make Pasifika foods such as Kalo (taro) and ‘Ulu (breadfruit). Practice Fijian stamping, learn Hawaiian Sign Language with Linda Lambrecht, and observe an ‘awa ceremony by two distinguished guests from the University of Hawai’i, Mānoa, ‘Ulise Funaki and professor Lelemia Irvine.
