Yale Poorvu Center is excited to announce the launch of the Accessibility at Yale Playlist, created in collaboration with the Yale Broadcast Studio. This ongoing project, initiated by Michelle Morgan, aims to highlight stories from students and faculty about accessible teaching practices at Yale. The playlist is available for everyone to share or embed within their websites.
The latest addition to the series, Chisom’s Story, follows Chisom Ofomata, a Deaf student at Yale, as she navigates the challenges of seeking accommodations. Chisom shares her journey of overcoming barriers, building a supportive community, and becoming a leader and advocate for disabled students. Her story provides valuable insights and recommendations for faculty on supporting d/Deaf students in higher education.
