Olivia Schlaepfer (YC ‘23) on Neurodiversity and Thriving at Yale

Most students feel disoriented and anxious when first starting college, and Olivia Schlaepfer was no exception. Yet until she was diagnosed with autism and ADHD as a sophomore, she couldn’t understand why it was so much more challenging for her, than for many of her peers, to make the social and academic transition into college life. Learning what neurodiversity means (and doesn’t mean) was like a lifesaver for Olivia, who shares in this brief interview how she came to understand and love herself and learned how to thrive at Yale.
